Eroding Memories | Unbound Book on Cardboard Lectern | 2015- 2017
Bucks Mills, a small fishing village on the coast of North Devon, is slipping away from what it once was. Stalking the village are the ghosts of memories left behind by people long gone. This handwritten transcribed interview is one account of the past and present of the village. The account moves fluidly between different tenses, narratives, and pronouns, giving a continuously shifting view of the village.
Eroding Memories was the start of a two year research project in Bucks Mills which looked at the fragility of history and memory in a place that is geologically unstable.
